We have already established my love for Harry Potter. I have made Butterbeer and Cauldron Cakes. Deliciousness brought to us by The Pastry Affair. Well, now I found cocktails inspired by Harry Potter. The Backyard Bartender made a bunch of cocktails inspired by different characters in the books and I just had to try one. There will be more in the future, but for now we tried the Neville Longbottom, because who doesn’t love Neville?

Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce
This was not my idea. A friend of mine was coming over and she had some squash and wanted to make something out of it. I am trying to broaden my horizons. So we looked at recipes and found something that sounded good.
Victoria Sponge Cake with Lemon Curd
Today was a stay inside all day and never leave the house sort of day. It was cold and windy outside and all I wanted to do was play with my cat, eat and read a book. This cake was super simple and I was able to use the rest of my lemon curd!!
The Weekly Dish 01/29/2012
I just finished my 100. It is a list of things I want to cook or bake. It is a huge list and I don’t have any timeline for finishing it. I just like lists and being able to check things off. Also, if I can’t think of anything to make I can go to that for ideas.
I am learning American Sign Language right now and my teacher showed us this video. It is the cutest thing in the world.
Here is a list of my recipes from the week.
And this is a list of recipes I think look good from other blogs.

Cheesy Pear Cider Bread
I am not a beer fan. Just not my cup of tea. So the other night I was out with a friend and we were looking at the drinks menu when she said she might try their pear cider. My response “What! There is such a thing as pear cider?!”
Spiced Edamame
These are interesting. You are suppose to leave them in the pods. So the really intense spices, are actually just eh.
Baked Jerk Chicken
I love spicy food and I love marinades and rubs. Mix everything together the night before and then just put it in the oven and bam! Dinner, or today, lunch.
Homemade Goat Cheese
OMG I made goat cheese! My friend was over this weekend and together we tackled homemade goat cheese. It turned out quite wonderfully if I do say so myself.
Mulled Cider
Fluffy Monsters (Pancakes)
These are the pancakes I ate with the lemon curd. These are amazing! We got the recipe from my friend Beth. The first time I made these my roommate and I renamed them Fluffy Monsters, because they are huge and amazingly fluffy.
