I was given this recipe by a really good friend of mine. I love getting handwritten recipes from people. It feels so authentic and personal to me. These are recipes that people share with their loved ones. And then they took the time to sit down and write it. I adore handwriting. Mine is not the best, but if I write very slowly I can produce something I am proud to share. Also, since people so rarely give handwritten recipes anymore, it feel extra special to me!

Stuffed Acorn Squash with Black Rice, Roasted Carrots, and Dried Cherries
We had friendsgiving last weekend. It was awesome, albeit small. But the people who did come were awesome and the food was great. Really what more can you ask for?
Sweet and Spicy Mushroom Stir Fry
I love this so much! It has so much flavor. I have never made mushrooms that taste so good. And you have to have rice or something to soak up all of the wonderful sauce. It takes a little while to make. But it isn’t hard, just a little time consuming.
Asian-Marinated Baked Chicken
Apparently I send very business like texts. I get to the point. Texting takes too much work to be frilly. Who, what, where, when and why was it funny? Those are normally the questions answered by my texts.
Red Lentil Salad
My friend Kelzee made this delicious salad. It is full of flavor and amazing textures. It has tons of spices and a very complex flavor. Everyone loved it!
Does not that look like a wonderful picnic meal? It was just perfect.
Chai Concentrate
We finally found winter. I had to shovel this morning. The snow was so heavy and wet. Oh well, everything looks really beautiful. I am hoping to post some pictures of the snow globe I now live in.
Chicken breasts grilled with orange-ginger glaze
This was super yummy. I really like marinades. I make them the day before and then just have to bake, grill or whatever and- presto- a delicious meal. Plus, when you leave the marinade on over night it soaks into the chicken really well, so your meal is really flavorful.
