We have already established my love for Harry Potter. I have made Butterbeer and Cauldron Cakes. Deliciousness brought to us by The Pastry Affair. Well, now I found cocktails inspired by Harry Potter. The Backyard Bartender made a bunch of cocktails inspired by different characters in the books and I just had to try one. There will be more in the future, but for now we tried the Neville Longbottom, because who doesn’t love Neville?
This drink has Pimms and tea-infused gin. To make tea-infused gin combine 1.5 cups of gin and 1 tbsp + 1 tsp of loose leaf English Breakfast tea in an airtight jar. Seal the jar and shake once. Leave at room temperature for two hours. After two hours strain out the gin.
I liked this drink. It is very British. Not too sweet, but not bitter. It is very strong. The picture below is of two drinks together, because I don’t have little glasses. But we split it between two of us.
The Neville Longbottom Cocktail
- 1.5 ounces tea-infused gin
- 1 ounce Pimms
- .75 ounces fresh squeezed lemon juice
- .75 ounces simple syrup
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake and strain into an ice-filled glass.
