Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Aren’t these beautiful?  They are some of my mom’s flowers.  She loves tulips and has a bunch in beautiful colors in her kitchen.

Sweet and sour meatballs have been a favorite family recipe for years.  I really enjoy them and they always turn out right, which is not true of everything I make.  Last week I had a few abysmal failures.

These meatballs are delicious and easy to make.  I would love to hear how they work for you, if you make them.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

This is an old family recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 28 ounces ketchup
  • 10 ounces apple jelly

Directions:

1. Mix ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, and onion soup mix together.  Shape into meatballs.  Brown drain.

2. Mix ketchup and apple jelly.  Pour over meatballs.  Simmer 1/2 hour.
