Honey Chicken Kabobs

I had another dinner party!!  This time we all had a secret ingredient that the other people had to guess.  I made kabobs!  I really like this recipe!  They taste fantastic and it is super simple.

Here we are assembling.  I need to work on my grilling technique and kabob ability.  I only have a indoor grill.  It works, but some of the chicken was no ideally located on the skewer.  We figured it out, but I definitely have some learning to do to make it perfect and easy.

Everyone liked them.  The secret ingredients were the soy sauce and the honey, since both had equal amounts in the recipe.  People guessed soy sauce immediately, but the honey took a while.  They even asked for a hint, because no one could guess it.

Honey Chicken Kabobs

This recipe is adapted from allrecipes.com.

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8 skinless, boneless chicken breasts halves- cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 1 pound mushrooms
  • 2 small onions, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 2 red bell peppers, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 3 green bell peppers, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • skewers

1. In a large bowl, whisk together oil, honey, soy sauce, and black pepper.  Before adding chicken, reserve a small amount of marinade to brush onto kabobs while cooking.  Place the chicken, garlic, onions, mushrooms and peppers in the bowl, and marinate for at least 2 hours, I normally marinate overnight.

2. Heat up the grill.

3. Drain the marinade and thread the chicken and vegetables on skewers.  Cook for 12-15 minutes on grill.
