#Figlove: Cheese Stuffed Figs with Toasted Walnuts

October is #figlove month!!!  I am hosting this month.  In the past I participated in #peachlove, #tomatolove, #icecreamlove, #pastalove, #berrylove, #greenslove, #chocolatelove.

This month was #figlove.  I have never cooked with figs before and I can’t even remember if I have had figs before.  So I was a little concerned.  I did not want to make some large dish and then not like the figs.  Then I found this appetizer/side dish item.  With cheese and walnuts.  I love cheese and nuts, so I thought this would be a place to start with figs.

I did not know what to make this week.  I wanted something easy, fast and new.  I just did not know what to do.  I was uninspired.  AND THEN #sundaysupper happened and the theme was 5 ingredients or less and I thought that round up would have something I could make.

Sweet and Spicy Mushroom Stir Fry

 

I love this so much!  It has so much flavor.  I have never made mushrooms that taste so good. And you have to have rice or something to soak up all of the wonderful sauce.  It takes a little while to make.  But it isn’t hard, just a little time consuming.

September Foodie Pen Pal

It’s foodie pen pal time!!!!  I received this great package from Lindsey over at Kalefornication.  It was full of delicious California treats.

In my box I found, ginger spiced biscotti, dried cherries, dried apricots, kale chips, fig bar, chocolate peanut butter treat, almond butter and homemade zucchini bars with cream cheese frosting.  Amazing!!!
