#SundaySupper is a group of bloggers who are on a mission to bring back supper around the family table in every home. This week the theme is Autumn Apples!!!
It is apple season!!! It is crisp and fresh outside and all I can think about is going apple picking in some gorgeous orchard. Time has not allowed for that yet, but I have been able to eat some delicious apples and use them in a few recipes!!! More to come soon! To start with we have this great chai tea with some apple cider and apple slices.
This is super easy to make and an awesome snack any time of day. I was thoroughly satisfied after this fabulous afternoon snack! What are your favorite fall foods/meals?
Apple Chai Tea
This recipe was adapted from Veggie Belly.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 cardamom pods
- 2 cloves
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons loose leaf black tea (I used Darjeeling)
- sugar to taste
- 1 cup apple juice or cider
- apple slices, cinnamon sticks and what not for a garnish
Directions
1. Lightly crush the cardamom pods. Place the water, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to boil.
2. Next add tea and turn off the heat. Steep the tea for 5 minutes (adjust for how strong you prefer your tea.) Then strain and stir in sugar to taste.
3. Add apple juice to your tea and serve hot or cold. Garnish as you like!!
