I had a beautiful lazy day yesterday. Pippi and I slept in, well after she was fed at 5:00 am, Pippi does not quite understand sleeping in yet. I read, watched tv, all in all a wonderful day.

Plumberry Pie
I made my first pie!!! I was so excited!! My friend Leslie and I went to the farmer’s market and bought the fruit. It was wonderful!
Southern Buttermilk Fried Chicken
At the dinner party my friend, Leslie, made some delicious chicken!! I love fried chicken and I always have difficulty making it. I just have not found the perfect recipe or timing.
Spicy Black Bean Burgers
I love black bean burgers. They have always been my favorite type of veggie burgers. I was super excited to try them. AND they tasted great! I used the left overs to make a yummy breakfast skillet. The possibilities are endless.
Fruit Salad
I had a dinner party last weekend and this was one of the delicious dishes that we ate. I love summer fruit salads! This was just perfect. It made a nice contrast to the tomatoes and black bean burger.

One of my best friends, Leslie, is moving back to Kansas this week. She has been a great friend and a wonderful cooking partner. I am sad to see her go and wish her the best of luck with her move. This musical group was recommended by her, so this weeks music is in honor of Leslie!

I had a dinner party last weekend and Arbor made guac!! Everyone seemed to love it. I am not partial to onions, so I did not partake. But it was gone by the end of dinner, so it must have been good 🙂
