Chicken Korma

I was given this recipe by a really good friend of mine.  I love getting handwritten  recipes from people.  It feels so authentic and personal to me.  These are recipes that people share with their loved ones.  And then they took the time to sit down and write it.  I adore handwriting.  Mine is not the best, but if I write very slowly I can produce something I am proud to share.  Also, since people so rarely give handwritten recipes anymore, it feel extra special to me!

Fried Green Tomatoes- Guest Post from Supper For a Steal

Hi! I’m Lane from Supper for a Steal. I’m excited to be posting over here today and sharing something a little different than I typically blog about. Usually you can find me menu planning and creating recipes around the weekly Publix ad, but today I am sharing a recipe I love, fried green tomatoes.

I was a little worried that green tomatoes would be hard to find this late in the season, but I was at a local produce market over the weekend and saw some beautiful, huge, green beefsteak tomatoes.

Being a southern girl I love all fried foods and fried green tomatoes are such a guilty pleasure when we go out to eat. When I stumbled across Southern Living’s fried green tomato recipe and saw how simple the ingredients were I knew they would be making an appearance in my kitchen soon.

We like to dip these in jalapeno ranch dressing for a little kick. With all that extra buttermilk you will have you could whip up a quick batch yourself.

Crab and Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms

These were delicious!!  I am going to have to make them again.  I made them with my sister a week ago.  She was visiting and we had a great time.  I love sharing food with the people I love.

They turned out to be a little bit difficult to photograph.  Which is just too funny, because they tasted so good and I want all of you to go try them.  Oh well, I will have to make them again soon and try, try again.

Pico de Gallo with Mangos

My friend Zach made this delicious pico de gallo!!  I loved it.  I am definitely going to be making it soon.

Zach says, “Pico de gallo is super easy and easily adaptable to what you’ve got around. It’s a good side dish for any “scraps” that are laying around.  {It is also} good in tacos as well. Next time I think I’ll add more mango. Pico de gallo in Spanish means “beak of the rooster”. It’s not something to be taken seriously.” Continue reading
