I have been dying to make an upside down cake! So, when I was looking for recipes for this month’s love blog hop and stumbled upon a cranberry upside down cake- I was hooked! I also love bundt cakes, so I decided to put the cake in my bundt cake mold. It makes everything prettier. Don’t you think?
This month was #figlove. I have never cooked with figs before and I can’t even remember if I have had figs before. So I was a little concerned. I did not want to make some large dish and then not like the figs. Then I found this appetizer/side dish item. With cheese and walnuts. I love cheese and nuts, so I thought this would be a place to start with figs.
It has been a whole week since I posted. I have been really busy and away from the internet. I moved!!! I am now in a cute little studio with a murphy bed. I am so happy the murphy bed works. It might be my favorite part of my new place. A murphy bed is a bed that can go into the wall. It makes me small apartment, much more comfortable.
I love making salsa. It is normally really easy and so delicious!! This recipe is no exception. I have also been trying can. And salsa is such an easy thing to make that I can focus on the canning. But I can’t imagine how much I would have to can to keep me in salsa for the whole year! Wow, I am so impressed by anyone who actually cans everything they need of any staple food item.
These are a family tradition. We always have scotch-a-roos at holidays and really any family get together. My grandma made them, my mom makes them, I don’t make them very often, but I am sure I will when I have kids.
